Somehow my low stress, mostly presentless holiday season has turned into absolute madness!

First of all J. wants an Xbox for the holiday. These are expensive and I am having absolutely no luck finding a deal online. I tried the amexnetwork Wishlist thing and despite sitting there and clicking as soon as the countdown hit zero and for 25 minutes afterwards, no joy. And except for the refer 9-12 people free offers and I feel bad doing that to my friends even though some of them have done it to me, I can't find anything else. *sigh* He says he doesn't mind waiting til after the holiday to see of there are sales then, but I want to have something to give him.

Then, there is the massive overscheduling. Somehow, I have something planned every single day until the 22nd. Sometimes, more than one thing. Occasionally, several. There are a few days where all I have is work, but there are also tons of stuff to do around the house (more on that later.) It isn't that I don't want to do these things or see these people, it's just the overwhelming continuousness of it all.

Third, there is the fact that the presentless hasn't stuck so well in some cases. J. (understandably) still wanted to give something small to his young cousins, which ended up being necklaces I'm making. I still want to make something small for my close friends, but I honestly don't know if I'll have time before the official day. Ah, for a sewing machine, cuz handsewing takes forever! Then their is the expensive dinner which brings me to the last bit...

Somehow, we ended up with both sides of J's family at our place. This means about 20 people Xmas eve with a much smaller gathering of different folks on Xmas day. And J decided that for the 20 people gathering he wants to do prime rib. It will be lovely and tasty, and it is all he's buying for any of his family but tis also 9-12 dollars a pound. Plus I have to clean the house, hang the pictures, clean the furniture, and figure out what to do about a tree before they get there. (Real tree on hardwood floor guarantees puppy messes, but we don't own a fake one and I don't want to buy one) At lest I already got a wreath and hung that.

PLus all the normal work and life stuff. And I'm still waiting to hear from the evil ABP and the hospitals on the final word. Color me overwhelmed.

Mostly for myself here's the to-do list:
Xbox
pink beads
make necklace
sewing of many things
hang pictures
hang lights
send cards
J'd bday gift, dinner
office gifts
office party
Rathbun's party
clean house
tree dilemma

Things that will have to wait:
doctor
dentist
Tivo
clean/organize garage
furniture
better TV
winterize yard
