Holidaze review
Not really sure how to quantify my holiday odyssey.
It started Satirday afternoon, when I was done working my half day. As of noon that day J. did not yet have our prime rib and had not done his holiday. I got home just in time for a hug before he left. But at about 1:30 he called and was done already, so I got extra boy time before I took him in to work. Later that night we met up with some friends at the bar to celbrate his bday from earlier that week. I only had one drink, but somehow we ended up at an all night tacqueria at 5 AM, and with a friend crashing at our place for the night.
Sunday, I was miserable with a headache and lack of sleep all day. It finally eased after I got some caffiene in my system. J and I then did the shopping for the massive entertainments of the next few days. When we got home, I made a cheesecake and curled up with the boy for a bit.
Monday was entirely consumed with the dinner for 20+ people at our place. Luckily I had gotten all the pictures hung previously, and J and I had cleaned the day before. People started arriving about 3 PM. We had also invited our ols neighbors, and I have to say it was really nice to see them again. Sadly, with all the hostessing I didn't get to chat with them much. By 5 everything had been prepared and we ate lots of rpime rib n fixings. There were several deserts and the joys of stockings, a Wilder family tradition. J's young counsins were particularly nice and got me some bath stoof. They all headed out by about 10 PM or so, and then began the cleaning. I did several loads of dished and J hauled a bunch of trash but things were done relatively fast.
Tuesday, J's dad, brother and stepmother were over. That dinner went off even easier, as it was only 5 people. It was actually pretty boring since we'd seen them recently. There was more cleaning and the garbage disposal broke! But I gave that problem to J. After they left, I took a nap since I was totally exhausted. J and his brother headed off to a bar to meet their mom and eventually came home about 10 PM. By this time, I was actively sick but we hung out for a while before going to bed.
Yesterday was the first day I really got to hang out with Jason, and his brother tagged along all day. We went to the mall *eek* so Jesse could get J his bday present, had dinner, and then just hung out at home with the dogs.
On the plus side of my booty list is the faboo camera J got me (8 mpixel, 10x zoom, 1080 screen) and the even better neckalec he gave me. It's almost like the journey diamond thing but tis a line of 4 graduated sapphires with some diamond pave wound around it. I LURVS it! Also recieved were a tea kettle from my brother and his wife, and many loverly cards. Thanks y'all.
Today I'm sadly back at work, and still sick. Cough, runny nose, watery eyes....the whole 9. In my field about once a year is standard. It was busy earlier but now tis slowed down and all i want is to go home and sleep.
